I made the mistake of using my GoPro's non-waterproof backdoor, so unfortunately you can barely hear the engine. Lesson learned for next time. Enjoy!

get rid of those blind spot mirrors!

I could give that a shot. I hate taking my eyes off the road.
my father recently bought a motorcycle that had those little mirrors installed, and has considered taking them off.

I agree they look like hell, but I use them much more than the main mirrors. The MR2's stock mirrors are painfully small. Blind spot mirrors are proven to deter California Prius Drivers, whose natural habitat is the blind spot.

Save it for the track.

Ahhh, your gopro audio skills are precarious, man...
Take my example here made this weekend

This is most excellent. Were you using an external microphone or just a windscreen on the back of the GoPro?

He posted this earlier this week, I'm pretty sure it's an external mic.

I only watched up to the 5 min mark, but he always stayed on his side of the lines with his hands on the wheel properly. Looked like the majority of the time he was going within 10 of the speed limit, so where most drivers usually hang. I totally agree with the "take it to the track" mentality but I didn't think he was driving too crazily, except for the one or two times where he really punched it on the straights, that was the only time I thought "maybe that kinda speed is not a good idea".

It was those one or two times that made me think of the track.

You ever work your way as far south as Skyline Boulevard or Highway 9?

I've done one proper test comparing the GoPro audio and a Zoom H1 external mic and the Zoom is leaps and bounds better. It actually sounds like a car.
What's more, you can put the mic out of the wind as well, which helps a lot.
Nice video though. Great angle.

Looks like a lot of fun! Good hand position, stays in lane, probably a little fast but really, who hasn't done this?

External mic is a must on a GoPro. I usually put it down behind the passenger seat so you can hear the engine.

MR2's have super awesome visibility. I've never even thought about needing those things.

Not yet, but I've heard great things about Highway 9. I'll have to check it out sometime.
